DUE CONCERTI CON CENA SOTTO LE STELLE...Tutte le sere del Festival, a partire dalle ore 20,00, nell’Arena Jazzontheroad, sarà possibile ascoltare un ottimo concerto NEW WAY, dedicato ai giovani talenti, cenando con squisiti piatti preparati da Eat&Smile e bevendo l’ottima birra del Birrificio Curtense, in attesa del concerto “Big” in programma.

Il gruppo nasce circa sei anni fa in modo molto naturale e spontaneo da quattro amici, musicisti e (allora) studenti del Conservatorio di Brescia con in comune una gran voglia di fare musica e di sperimentare.
La grande intesa ed sinergia creatasi tra i suoi componenti, ha permesso alla band di acquisire un sound maturo e votato alla ricerca continua di nuove sonorità pur senza mai abbandonare l’eco della tradizione jazzistica.

Nel 2018 la band ha registrato il primo demo composto da tutti brani originali che verranno presentati questa sera.
Il nome “Scarfoy” deriva da una parola dialettale bresciana (scarfoi) che indica le foglie che avvolgono la pannocchia custodendone e proteggendone il prezioso contenuto così come, allo stesso modo, fanno metaforicamente i 4 musicisti nei confronti del nucleo sonoro che caratterizza la loro musica.Alle ore 21,30 ci si sposta sul palco centrale per ascoltare:

Nel Novembre 2017 Guidi si è recato in studio per registrare un nuovo album per la prestigiosa etichetta bavarese ECM, insieme allo straordinario Francesco Bearzatti al sax tenore e al clarinetto ( uno dei sassofonisti di punta del giovane jazz italiano), al guru della chitarra Roberto Cecchetto, alla nuova star mondiale del contrabbasso Thomas Morgan (che a Brescia verrà sostituito dal bravissimo Joe Rehmer) ed al fedele compagno di tante avventure, il batterista portoghese Joao Lobo.
Il nuovo progetto del talentuoso pianista umbro che si chiama “ Avec Le Temps” , come l’omonimo disco (uscito questa primavera) si muove lungo coordinate artistiche che suscitano un impatto immediato, con particolare enfasi sul personalissimo aspetto melodico e lirico, ma che non disdegna ampie digressioni in territori più imprevedibili e meno esplorati.
Il disco è dedicato al grande cantautore francese Leo Ferrè, vissuto a lungo in Toscana. Suo è il brano “Avec Le Temps”, che è uno dei più toccanti ed anche più famosi del suo repertorio.

the band was born about six years ago in a very natural and spontaneous way by four friends, musicians and students of the Conservatory of Brescia with a great desire to make music and experiment.
The great synergy created between its musicians, allowed the band to acquire a mature sound and devoted to the continuous search for new sounds without ever abandoning the echo of the jazz tradition.
In 2018 the band recorded the first demo composed of all original songs that will be presented tonight.
The name "Scarfoy" derives from a dialectal word from Brescia (scarfoi) that indicates the leaves that wrap the cob guarding and protecting its precious contents just as, in the same way, the 4 musicians metaphorically take care the sound core that characterizes their music.At 9,30 p.m. we move to the central stage to listen:

is the new exciting Giovanni Guidi’s project: the band has recorded an album for ECM that will be released on March 2019 and it is composed by the most talented italian musicians: Francesco Bearzatti on tenor sax/clarinet (the most important italian sax player of the new generation), Roberto Cecchetto on guitar (during his intense career he met on his path great musicians as Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu, Richard Galliano and many others), Thomas Morgan on bass (which in Brescia will be masterfully replaced by the excellent Joe Rehmer) and Joao Lobo on drums (Giovanni Guidi long time collaborator).
All the band members share the same idea: making music with an immediate impact, focusing on lyrical and melodic aspects not leaving aside the chance to take a journey to new and unknown territories.
