Enzo Favata nel dare il nome a questa nuova avventura ha pensato bene ad identificarlo come un trafficato incrocio sonante, dove autostrade elettroniche si intersecano con piste desertiche, ipontiche ritmiche balinesi ed assordanti strade metropolitane del jazz. Come scrive nella presentazione del gruppo lo scorso Edimburgh Jazz Festival: “The Sardinian saxophone wizard has an unquenchable spirit of adventure and here he is with a new band that makes his music seem even more vital and essential”.
Entrare in contatto con questa band significa immergersi in un caleidoscopio di suoni e stili musicali dalle molteplici forme. Un vortice tra minimalismo, space rock, jazz contemporaneo, musica elettronica e world jazz, combinati dal suono originale del sax soprano e del clarinetto basso di Enzo Favata, la forza stilistica di uno dei più grandi vibrafonisti europei Pasquale Mirra, il sapore rock insieme allo sperimentale gusto jazz del basso inconfondibile di Rosa Brunello e batteria magistrale di Marco Frattini .
La band di recente costituzione ha già ha avuto grande successo nel 2019 nella sua recente tournée in Giappone, al Festival Jazz di Edimburgo, all’European Jazz Conference di Novara per finire l’anno una lunga tournée in novembre/dicembre in Sud America dove ha suonato in varie città del Brasile ed al Festival Jazz di Montevideo, nel 2020 ritornerà in Asia per una serie di concerti ed è sono stati già invitati in alcuni dei più importati Festival Jazz Europei .
A proposito della sua musica è stata definita dalla stampa giapponese come: “una musica visionaria con il sapore selvatico del Mediterraneo, che si lega con ritmi ipnotici dell’Etiopia e alle atmosfere balinesi, miscelate da un sapiente uso dell’elettronica e dell’improvvisazione, una poesia dalla potenza sonora unica, il jazz italiano fa sempre delle ottime sorprese, ma questa band è da seguire con attenzione ”

Enzo Favata wanted to identify this new project as a crowded and noisy crossroad, where electronic highways cross with desert lanes, hypnotic Balinese rhythms and colourful Jazz urban roads. As Edinburgh Jazz Festival claimed last year to introduce the concert of the group : “The Sardinian saxophone wizard has an unquenchable spirit of adventure and here he is with a new band that makes his music seem even more vital and essential”. Listening to the music of this band means diving into a kaleidoscope of sounds and musical genres with multiple shapes. A strong vortex that moves between European minimalism, space rock, contemporary jazz, electronic music and world jazz. Everything combined cleverly by the Enzo Favata’s soprano sax and bass clarinet, the stylistic power of one of the greatest European vibraphonist (Pasquale Mirra), the rock flavour of the Rosa Brunello’s bass and the masterful drumming of Marco Frattini. This quite new group has already earned great success in 2019 during the Japanese tour, the performance at the Edinburgh Jazz Festival and the long South American tour where they performed in different Brazilian cities and in Montevideo. Some Japanese wrote “the Enzo Favata group plays a visionary music that has the wild Mediterranean flavour, connected with the hypnotic Ethiopian rhythms and to Balinese atmospheres. All these ingredients are blended by a clever usage of improvisation and electronic instruments and generates a poetry with a unique sonic power. The Italian Jazz scene offers always great surprises and this band is definitely in the foreground”
