Vincitrice del Premio Ciampi nel 2007 e produttrice stimata nell’ambito jazz e sperimentale contemporaneo , Debora Petrina è compositrice, cantautrice, pianista, tastierista, chitarrista, e altresì danzatrice, performer e scrittrice. Sul palco di Jazz on the Road porterà la sua miscela esplosiva tra jazz, musica contemporanea e performance (durante lo spettacolo danza e recita). Il live set sarà in trio, con Debora Petrina alla voce, synth e tastiere, testi e composizioni; Marco Valerio al basso, chitarra, percussioni e cori; Andrea Davì alla batteria, percussioni, chitarra, synth e cori. Il concerto si sviluppa lungo un’ora di musica inedita, interamente composta, arrangiata ed eseguita da Debora Petrina e dai suoi due musicisti. Petrina torna in scena con una carica propulsiva nuova e inarrestabile.
Il live del disco che verrà presentato in anteprima in alcune selezionate location estive (tra cui quella di Jazz on the Road) porta tutti i segni di un rinnovamento profondo: è uno spettacolo performativo, vitale, con elementi di jazz, rock, musica classica, oltreché di scrittura, dialogo, danza, gesti. Petrina in scena canta, parla, si muove; suona tastiere e chitarra, affiancata da due musicisti poliedrici e versatili che alternano vari strumenti. Stimata da David Byrne, che ha spesso pubblicato i suoi brani nelle sue radio playlist di preferiti, Debora Petrina ha ricomposto un brano di John Cage, la cui partitura è ora pubblicata worldwide dalle Edition Peters (NYC) - gli editori di John Cage nonché di gran parte del repertorio classico e contemporaneo - con il doppio nome Cage/Petrina e il nuovo titolo Roses of the Day, per voce e pianoforte. Paolo Fresu ha pubblicato uno degli album di Petrina per inaugurare la sua etichetta dedicata alle voci, la Tuk Voice, e l'ha invitata a registrare un ulteriore progetto con lui e gli artisti della Tuk Music. Ha registrato prime assolute pianistiche di Morton Feldman negli Stati Uniti (OgreOgress), e di Sylvano Bussotti per l'etichetta Stradivarius, ed è stata molte volte interprete (vocale o alle tastiere) di opere contemporanee, anche per il Teatro La Fenice. Ha cantato e suonato allo Stone e al Barbès (New York), al Mills College (Oakland), al Seaprog Festival (Seattle), al Café du Nord (San Francisco), al DC Jazz Festival (Washington DC), al Teatro Roldàn (La Havana), al Jazz Festival di Madrid, alla Conway Hall (Londra), agli Istituti Italiani di Istanbul, Addis Abeba, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Strasburgo, oltre che a Tokio, Osaka, Berlino. Ha condotto un ciclo di trasmissioni per la Rete Due della Radio della Svizzera Italiana. Il Teatro Stabile del Veneto ha dato a lei e allo scrittore Tiziano Scarpa (Premio Strega) una residenza creativa per la produzione dello spettacolo Le cose che succedono di notte, di cui è autrice di musiche e canzoni, nonché unica musicista in scena. Lo spettacolo è ospite in numerose rassegne nazionali. E' in uscita quest'anno, per la zOaR Records di Elliott Sharp (NYC), un suo ulteriore album, composto e registrato assieme a Giovanni Mancuso: le NuovoMondo Symphonies per voce e due pianoforti. L'album ha suscitato l'entusiasmo di Terry Riley, che ne ha scritto la prima recensione. Alcuni sui racconti sono stati pubblicati sulle riviste letterarie Il primo amore e Stanza 251, ed è in uscita il suo primo libro, Concerto a luci spente.

Debora Petrina is a musician, composer, producer, writer and performer winner of the 2007 Ciampi prize and well appreciated in the jazz and contemporary experimental music scenes. On the Jazz On The Road stage she will bring her characteristic and explosive music which is a perfect mixture of jazz, contemporary music and performance (she is also a dancer and performer) performed by her trio made up by Marco Valerio (bass, guitar, percussions and voice) and Andrea Davì (drums, percussions, guitar, synth and voice). The trio is back on stage with an interesting set list of new and original songs (unedited to date) which blends jazz, rock, classical music and dance. She is greatly appreciated by David Byrne who often published her songs on his radio playlists; furthermore she revisited a John Cage song, whose transcription is now published worldwide by Edition Peters (NYC) – the John Cage’s editor famous also for publishing a big part of the contemporary classical music repertoire – under the Cage/Petrina name and a new song called “Roses of the day”, a piece for voice and piano. Paolo Fresu published one of the Petrina’s record to inaugurate his label dedicated to the voices (Tuk Voice) and invited her to record a brand new project with him and other artists of the Tuk Music Record. Petrina recorded several concerts for the Stradivarius label and performed several pieces (as vocalist or as keyboard player) of some contemporary music pieces (also for the Fenice Theater in Venice). She performed in some of the most prestigious venues in the world and had her own radio programme for Rete Due in Swiss. The Stabile theatre in Veneto gave her and the writer Tiziano Scarpa a creative residency for the production of the show “le cose che succedono di notte (things that happen in the night)” for which she wrote all the music (she is also the only musician on stage). In 2022 the zOaR Records will release her new record, composed and recorded along with Giovanni Mancuso : the NuovoMondo Symphonies for voice and two pianos. Furthermore she will publish her first book “concerto a luci spente” (concert with lights switched off)
